Tea HouseRinshō Yakumuan
The tea house Rinshō Yakumuan—a heritage structure of over ninety years—was relocated from Rinshō-en, a historic villa in Karasaki on the shores of Lake Biwa, famed for its “Karasaki Pine.”
It was the work of the renowned garden master, Ogawa Jihei VII, whose artistry also graces the gardens of Kyoto’s Heian Jingu Shrine, Nanzen-ji’s Murin-an, Shiga’s historic Keiunkan, and the cherished Shinshin-an of Konosuke Matsushita.
Built in the traditional sukiya style, the tea house embodies the quiet elegance of Japanese architecture, complemented by a garden of serene beauty. Normally closed to the public, it is open here for your private appreciation.
Optional experiences, such as a traditional tea ceremony or kimono dressing, may also be arranged. (Reservation required)
